COVID-19 RESPONSE

Moving microbiology labs online within 72hours was a challenge we embraced. Using home kits, online simulations, and a variety of other creative tools we are able to teach >1000 students high quality microbiology labs during the pandemic.

Audio-visual learning modules and tutorials

To ensure that diverse learners get the most out of the microbiology labs, we created a large number of videos and tutorials to address an aspect of UDL (universal design of learning)

Motivating the next generation

Besides volunteering in various schools around the region we conducted a "Microbiology apprenticeship camp" at UF for middle school students
